About - iJewry opens a window for understanding the nature of Jewish basic laws and faith. The application provides tools for understanding and basic view of the Jewish prayers, the nature of the Jewish holidays, weekly portions, and updated times (location based) for the basic prayers and traditions (based on GPS capabilities of the iPhone if existed).

Prayers – in order to receive the basic knowledge on the Jewish prayers, one must press the in this stage note will appear and will allow us to choose:


Candle lighting


The Psalms page will guide us to all Psalms chapters allow us a quick search for a chapter.

The Candle lighting page will specify the different prayers for Candle lighting.

The Blessings page will specify the different Blessings for different part of the day and other needed Blessings.

Holidays – this section will guide us trough the Jewish holidays, what they means and stands for. The holidays list is sort by alphabetically or by dates in the calendar year. In order to get a quick view on each holiday is meaning and what it symbols we need to press the holiday name and we will receive:

General information on the holiday (why?) and an historical background.

How to – background on the customs and needs to do to the different day of the holiday .

The Wall – this is a virtual platform to the custom of putting a written wishes into the west wall holes. In this stage the wishes are symbolically and virtually but in the next version we will allow sending of a written wishes and notes and place them into the west wall holes by one of our local persons in the west wall. Writing the notes is done by pressing on one of the notes in the right side. Taping the note itself will open a keyboard. At the end of typing the note we can send it using the send button (upper right side of the screen).

Weekly Portion – in order to view the weekly portion (based on the date set in the phone) one must press the screen (it may take a few seconds to appear based on the size of the file please wait until it will opens).

Very convenient!

I am a Jew getting back to my roots and having all the prayers holidays and explanations at hand is very convenient. It would be great if more were added with English translation and transliteration.
